Buckets for Kids Initiative was created by Lucas Pashby in 2023 his sophomore year. He is a fellow basketball player at Frisco High School. He wants to help children locally in our community by putting a few smiles of their faces this holiday. The idea is to have a basketball drive specifically for Frisco Family Services and their Holiday Store Program. Lucas & his Family worked with them to see what he could do and what they could accommodate in their store this season. The Goal of 200 basketballs was born.
The FHS Basketball Head Coach, Steele, & the Basketball Booster Club has been extremely supportive and has made many efforts to work together with Lucas for this Annual Basketball Drive. This year we have more than doubled our basketball donations and even added a few new teams, and groups to our efforts. This year we were able to expand our ball drive to basketballs, footballs, soccer balls, and volleyballs. We couldn't be more grateful to all our participants this year. We hope they will work with us next year and that we will continue to grow.
Lucas's Buckets for Kids Initiative, FHS Basketball and now our expanded team support ( MVP Volleyball Club) can work together each holiday to make an impact and become young leaders in their own community. " kids helping kids"
You can help by donating just 1 basketball. Lets Go Raccoons!
These balls are all donated to Frisco Family Services Holiday Program. These balls provide holiday cheer and allow FFS to add to other programs aiding in our youth community. (Summer 9 week Lunch Program, "Fun Fridays")
If you don't have time to shop or you aren't local but want to help, then please Venom us and Buckets for Kids will shop for you.
Buckets for Kids Initiative hopes it can continue to be annual event with your support.
"A simple basketball is more than a ball used to play in a game. Kids can find happiness, friendship, exercise and even work through a really tough day."- Lucas Pashby
This year we're off to a fantastic start. Frisco Family Services Program is relying heavily on our efforts to supply them with their program needs. It's our job to bring in the basketballs by Dec 16th.
In 2024 we have started to expand our goals and bring in extra teams and clubs to help in our journey and make it even better than last year.
If you have a group who would like to contribute please contact us at Lucasunt@icloud.com
Dec 2- Dec 16th
You can drop off basketballs at:
Home Basketball Game Dec 13th (concession stand)
Mrs. Harberts Room: M150
Indoor Football Field Dec 18th 6PM - 7PM
Together our boys were able to collect approximately 230 basketballs. This allowed Frisco Family Services to give each family signed up at their holiday event each a basketball to take home along with other gifts for their families.
We hope to gather even more balls next year. Lucas's Buckets for kids with work with Frisco Family Servies in their planning for next years drive and try and fill in their needs.
Thanks again to the Frisco High School players, parents, students, and The FHS Basketball Booster Club for all their support in making this dream come true.
Look for these bins placed around our school.
